- Extended warranties from credit cards (some extend manufacturer coverage)
- Builder warranties on newer homes
- Installer warranties on recent work
Home warranty plans
- They're service contracts, not insurance
- Read the exclusions, caps and service-call fee
- You usually can't choose your contractor
- Compare the yearly price with saving the same amount in a repair fund
